EC Based Questions
Why do you want to join the EC team? (200 word minimum)
I enjoy my moderator job a lot, but I've been having an itch to have a creative outlet that doesn't strictly involve development of my characters. I'm currently in the process of finalising Nightshade's story and planning out how I want to end his character. After that, I want a way to express my creativity. Not only that, but I find that server experience is a wonderful way to keep players around and active. The day-to-day activities are nice, but what I find really draws people in are the events. I already help out with keeping bad apples out and whatnot, so this seems like my next evolution in helping the server be the best it can be. I thoroughly enjoy the times I'm called on to assist with events whether it be as an actor or otherwise. I like the breath of fresh air it provides for players, and I'd love to be part of the team that is cooking up such ideas. I feel like I keep repeating the same points over and over, but I really enjoy the prospect of providing a nice break of pace for players, and a new way to express my creativity in a productive way.
Why should we accept you in the EC team?
I believe I am a fairly creative person. I like to plan things out thoroughly when it comes to story and development. I believe I'm a convincing storyteller at the very least, and I know how to engage with other players quite organically.
On a scale of 1-10, how well do you know the Gmod tools?
Gonna be honest, a 3. I'm willing to learn though.
What is the purpose of the EC Team?
To provide a new and engaging addition to the server experience that doesn't just involve the cycle of raid-defend-contain that happens on a day-to-day basis, and to generally ensure people are having a fun experience while doing so!
If accepted into the EC team, do you have any event ideas that you would like to host?
Starting all the way in Ontario, towns have been experiencing a phenomenon where the sky blackens for a few days. No stars, no moonlight. Pitch darkness, the only light being that which is produced by artificial means. These pockets of pitch black extend about five miles in diameter, and have been steadily making their way west for the past few months. The Foundation likely moves to intercept by the time it’s made its way to mid-Alaska. Things are strange from the get-go. The moment someone steps foot into the exclusion zone, their sense of paranoia goes into overdrive. The dread of a hundred eyes staring into your soul sees into every fibre of your being. You’d catch a pair of them staring from the corner of your own, but when you look directly at them they vanish.
The entity I have in mind is less physically threatening and more of a psychological danger. It might try to compel some to wander alone into the dark. Those it sees who aren’t handling the paranoia well it will yoink into a pocket dimension. Once inside, they’ll be shown their greatest fears, for in the dark nothing can save them. If they roll a fifty or above, they resist and get spat back out. If they fail the roll, they have a temporary psychotic break and also get spat back out. Maybe they go mute and curl into a ball. Perhaps they go batshit insane for a brief moment and attack their comrades. Maybe they simply scream. It passes after a minute or so, and once the effects subside the retain no memory of anything that happened.
It’ll eventually make its presence known. Bullets won’t hurt it, but the muzzle flash may scare it off. Incendiaries will definitely weaken it. Any sort of light will prove very effective. It ends if they either piss it off enough to where it flees, or if they can manage to contain it by surrounding it with light and locking it in a box.
