Explain your RP App (300 Word Minimum if it’s for a character RP App; 150 Word Minimum if it’s for a non-character RP App - don’t use ChatGPT)?:

So, for this RP app, I intend on making a character that is a cooperative human anomaly that can encourage and participate in medical and research related roleplay without creating any kind of disruptions to the server's own mechanics. The goal is to create an anomaly that is both engaging yet minor and localized enough to not cause a major disruption and take away from the RP of others who may not want to participate in the RP being made by this character. The anomaly created by this character also does not interfere with things like, in this particular case, time flow. The anomaly creates a small interference effect that causes time keeping devices in a short distance to be interfered with. My goal with the character is to both function within foundation medical and also allow foundation researchers to continue ongoing research with this anomalous character. This creates a lot of scientific roleplay such as testing, documenting, and discussing the behavior of this anomalous character. The other hand of this character was not introducing any kind of a dangerous or weaponizable effect. The character's background is mainly that revolving around a medical field, Neurosurgery, which allows me to contribute in a way that is useful to Medical while under the supervision of the Foundation. This as well as the anomalous trait can create interesting and diverse RP scenarios, and allow other characters to have their own interesting interactions with this character depending on what devices said player characters have on them. All in all, the concept of this RP app and relating character is to create an interesting yet controlled anomaly that encourages roleplay with it rather than focusing on any combat or power capabilities. That is why it is intentionally lacking any trait that gives it power or makes it to where it can be used in any form of combat.

How will this RP App assist in your own Roleplay?:

As for my roleplay, it creates scenarios that using a unique condition that can naturally lead to interaction with others. Because of the subtleness of the anomalous effect, it brings a point of curiosity for all of those within the site who want to test, study, or follow the phenomenon. The fact the character also is in medicine creates a particularly interesting dynamic where the character can assist others medically and remain the subject of ongoing research.

Do you intend to develop this roleplay long term? What does that look like in your eyes?:

I do. My vision for this is that this human anomaly slowly integrates itself with the rest of the site, while also remaining something to be researched due to its effect not being fully understood. I can imagine over time the relationship the character can form with NTF, NU-7, GENSEC, Medical, Researchers, and even Site Command too due to the uniqueness of a character of this type. I also intend on making this effect slowly degrade this character's health, making the medical and researching pieces of it always evolving over time.

How will this RP affect others in Roleplay (If it doesn’t affect others, please note it here)?:

This was something I had to consider deeply while deciding the path to take this. Ultimately, the anomaly itself is subtle and meant to be non-disruptive. Other characters can choose whether or not to engage with it freely. Researchers can choose to test on it, medical can interact with it professionally, and staff can just treat them as a coworker. Because the anomaly only creates minor irregularities, it does not interfere with IC and OOC operations. Rather, it creates a point of curiosity that encourages investigative and research work.

How will you handle obtaining OOC consent from other players before involving their characters in situations related to your roleplay?:

If one character is nearby, I intend to PM them and inform them the character they are interacting with carries an anomalous trait, and its their choice if the trait affects them or not. That is the key behind the anomaly having variation. In some instances IC, the trait may not trigger at all (in the instance of me getting no consent OOC). If I am in a group, I can use LOOC to inform them, and gain consent that way as well. If a situation is ongoing, I can inform them via the same routes, PM or also ITPM as well as LOOC.

Please provide a DCB for your character (skip if app is not character-related):

Server Rule Related Questions:
What is a /roll? Give an example of when it would be used - this is intentionally repetitive:

A /roll (or its other variants: /str, /luck, /per, /con, /agi, /med, /res, etc.) are all server commands meant to be a form of skill check for an action. Any action that requires a level of skill will usually require a roll. For example, if you are a medical inserting an IV into somebody, that requires either a PER roll or MED roll. If you are trying to lift something heavy, that will usually require a STR roll.

What is a /me? Give an example:

/me is a server command meant to describe an action your character is taking. For example:

"/me takes a drink of water"

In that example, you the player are showing that your character is taking a drink of water. /me's can be specific or as vague as the player want them to be.

What is FailRP? Give an example:

FailRP is when a player engages in RP that is not realistic or lacks common sense. An example is a player saying they did something that is not physically possible, like phasing through a wall or if a player actively tries to disrupt the RP of others by engaging in trolling.

What is FearRP? Give an example:

FearRP is the act of your character being placed in a situation where a person would reasonably be afraid for their life. An example is being held at gun or knifepoint and being told to surrender. Depending on role rules, you have to surrender as you would reasonably be afraid for your life.

What is Metagame? Give an example:

Using information that is not applicable in character to make in character decisions or call outs. An example would be checking the scoreboard to see what roles of NU-7 are on surface so you can call out things like "one marksman awake".

What is Powergame? Give an example:

Powergaming is when you do something that is not realistic or is simply too powerful for any regular character to do, such as breaking an arm with their bare hands or throwing a car into a house.

What is GoreRP? Don’t give an example:

GoreRP is describing acts of violence or surgical acts in a manner that is overall too descriptive and is sensitive.

What is a Playerkill (PK)? Give an example of something that could get you PK’ed:

A Playerkill comes in two forms. Hard Playerkill (HPK) and Soft Playerkill (SPK). HPKs are a complete reset of character, rank, and any trained specialties. An HPK is only a reset and loss of character. Rank and Specializations are maintained. You can be PKed at the discretion of Site or Cell command pending an SW approval, SW actions, death by explosive specialist self-detonation, or you can always PK yourself at any time you see fit.

What is defection? In what instance could you defect if you were approved for an RP app?

Defection occurs when your character is put in a situation where they believe their faction may not have their best interest in mind, or that death by decision of their faction is imminent, both of which requiring a valid reason. In this case, your character can defect to another faction with the approval of SMT following a vote. It is not to be taken lightly. If approved for this, my character could defect if they believe they are at risk of termination or permanent containment by their site command, and if a valid RP reason exists, it can be brought to SMT for vote and approval.

Do you understand that others can refuse to engage in your character specific RP if they are uncomfortable or otherwise refuse to be affected by your RP? Please explain why it is important to have the consent of others before doing any RP that could affect their characters:

Yes. It is important to have the consent of others in RP that can affect them as it can cause the player's own desired route to take with their characters to be skewed off. Not everybody wishes to be affected by an anomaly, or to be tortured, or even experience medical RP. Its important to know what the player wants to do with the RP because it is ultimately their character.

Do you promise to act in good faith wherever applicable?:

Absolutely.
