Staffing Related Section
Why do you want to join the staff team? (200 Words Minimum)

I would greatly like to contribute more to the server. I play very frequently and feel like I've gotten myself back into the community enough where I feel comfortable dealing with everyday issues between players. Staff are a super important part of every server, and I hope to earnestly assist the team (and the server as a whole) with dealing with small issues and problems.
Being a member of staff on this server is something I have done before, which is part of why I feel so adamant about rejoining the team and assisting with the structure as a whole. Having previous experience helps me to understand the expectations, the responsibilities, and the challenges that come with the role. I know how important communication, consistency, and fairness are when dealing with issues on the server and those are qualities I believe I possess.
Finally, I want to rejoin staff because I genuinely care about the community here. I've met many wonderful people, and would love the opportunity to make the server a great place for regulars and new-comers alike. I'm willing to use my time, effort, energy, and experience in order to improve the server, making it a more enjoyable experience for all those within it.

Why should we accept you into the staff team?

I make an effort to always give everybody a fair chance and I feel like that can carry over into staffing as well. If somebody is a genuinely new player or isn't tremendously familiar with the rules, I would be happy to help them understand what they may have done wrong, and how to avoid that for the future. Even if it's evident the player has experience with the server and it's rules then I will still make an effort to talk it through with them, making it abundantly clear what happened. Clear communication is something I believe to be a strength of mine, and something I always make a priority.

What staffing experience do you currently have?

For GMOD specifically, I was a member of the staff team on this server for about 5 months (I could be wrong on that timeframe) back in 2024. Outside of that though, not very much.

Rule-based Questions Section
Define RDM:

RDM stands for Random Death Match, and is when a player kills another player with no reason or cause.

Ex. John decides it would be funny to shoot Mike, despite both being on the same side. John kills Mike, meaning John has committed RDM.

Define Metagame:

Metagaming is when somebody uses information that their character doesn't have in an in-character context.

Ex. John sees Mike mention over personal comms that he wants to meet Jerry at a specific location. John then goes to that location and hides to listen in to the meeting. The meeting and location was only spoken over personal comms that John doesn't have in-character access to, meaning John has metagamed.

Define NLR:

NLR stands for New Life Rule, and is a 2 minute timer between when somebody has died and when they are free to leave their bunks and engage in RP or Combat. NLR also means that a character forgets the information related to their death.

Ex. John dies during a raid, and after the raid is over he states that their faction was just raided, telling others in-character what was taken, or who was captured. All of this information was gathered before dying and during the raid, meaning John's character would have forgotten it and that John has broken NLR.

Define FailRP:

FailRP is short for Failure to RolePlay, and it's when somebody does something against what is appropriate for their character/role to do.

Ex. John is a member of GENSEC, but decides he's now on the side of the D-Class, assisting them with a riot. GENSEC's primary role is to keep D-Block secure, meaning that participating in a riot on the side of D-Class is FailRP.

Situation-based Questions Section
Player “X” reports player “Y” for RDM, the logs show that player “Y” did kill player “X”, both players are GenSec trainees. Player “X” states that there was no reason for him to be killed, player “Y” states that they were in an argument, player “X” made a nasty remark and player “Y” killed him for it. Neither party has a recording of the interaction, and no witnesses have come forward with any more information, what would you do?

Given that there is no evidence outside of logs, I would let player Y know that killing people just for insulting you is very much against the server rules and would give them a warning for RDM. I would also speak with player X, asking them if what player Y said is true. Given there's no evidence, I would ask have to take player X's word. If player X confirms that it's true, then I'll ask them politely to be more mindful of others in the future and consider their words a bit more carefully before letting them go and ending the ticket.

Player “A” reports player “B” for saying a racial slur, player “A” is uploading evidence, but it is taking a few moments. During this time, player “B” admits he used the slang term towards another player on the server. After receiving the video, you notice that player “B” in fact did say in it a greeting manor and not a confrontational manner. How would you handle this sit?

I would first let player B know that I greatly appreciate their honesty, before explaining to them that that kind of language is completely prohibited. Even though the term was used in a friendly manner it is still against the community guidelines and is taken very seriously. I give player B a warn for Racism, and make sure they fully understand what the expectations of the community are before letting them go and ending the ticket.
