Staffing Related Section
Why do you want to join the staff team? (200 Words Minimum)

I enjoy the server and wish to become a larger part of it. Staff are always an important part of keeping these communities running, so pitching in seems like a good way to give back to the server and the fun it offers me. Additionally, being a part of the staff team is a good way to get your name out there and start building good relationships with other members of the community. With my overwhelming amounts of free time even while playing the server, I believe that I am capable of taking care of staff matters quickly and avoiding those times where tickets will sit unclaimed for minutes because other staff are busy with different matters. I also believe that with my significant past experience, I can very quickly pick up the duties of being a part of staff, and be capable of doing a good job with little reason to worry. When it comes to actually taking sits and sorting out arguments between two people, I think that I’m very good at keeping unbiased views and hearing out both sides, while also being able to determine whether someone acted out of malice or ignorance. Lastly, I am capable of realizing when my personal feelings are starting to influence decisions, so I am able to step back before I do something unfair. I won’t try to settle arguments while I’m upset at one side, and I’m not afraid to give a warning to my friend if someone makes a report on them (although obviously I shouldn’t be taking a sit with someone I’m friends with involved, this is just a hypothetical)

Why should we accept you into the staff team?

I have always strived to be the voice for the lesser person, be that a low ranking enlisted, a new player to the server, or a 9 year old to whom the concept of RDM is an enigma. I believe this makes me more fair when it comes to settling reports between players, because I’m capable of determining whether someone breaks a rule on purpose, or did something by accident. I’m not gonna punish someone for a rule they obviously didn’t know about. Additionally, I believe my past experience makes me a more reliable choice because I’m already experienced with anything and everything that staffing entails.

What staffing experience do you currently have?

- Senior Admin on Gaminglight SCPRP (now imploded), duties of training new staff and overseeing them etc. Pretty much same ranking system as is present here.
- Owner and manager of my own server and staff team for a year before it also shut down.

Rule-based Questions Section
Define RDM:

Random death matching, killing someone without a valid reason. Walking up to the first person you see whom is on your own team, and killing them just because you felt like it.

Define Metagame:

Using information you would not realistically have in-rp to your advantage. Reading someone’s OOC message to track them down in their hiding spot and shoot them.

Define NLR:

New life rule, both the timer you wait out before returning to roleplay, and the rule to forget all relevant information obtained that led up to your death. Can’t go back to where you died because you know people are there, can’t keep information you had but weren’t able to communicate to others before dying.

Define FailRP:

Failure to roleplay. Being out of character constantly. Failing to comply with your faction’s roleplay rules, i.e being friends with MTF and not attacking them as a CI during combat.

Situation-based Questions Section

Player “X” reports player “Y” for RDM, the logs show that player “Y” did kill player “X”, both players are GenSec trainees. Player “X” states that there was no reason for him to be killed, player “Y” states that they were in an argument, player “X” made a nasty remark and player “Y” killed him for it. Neither party has a recording of the interaction, and no witnesses have come forward with any more information, what would you do?

Security trainees (and trainees altogether) are generally new players to the server as a whole. Taking this into consideration alongside neither party having evidence, both players would be let off with a verbal warning, with X being told to remain respectful towards others and not be toxic, and with Y being told not to shoot players that are rude to them, and to instead report them to staff.

Player “A” reports player “B” for saying a racial slur, player “A” is uploading evidence, but it is taking a few moments. During this time, player “B” admits he used the slang term towards another player on the server. After receiving the video, you notice that player “B” in fact did say in it a greeting manor and not a confrontational manner. How would you handle this sit?

If player B was both new to the server and unfamiliar with the rule, I would explain to them that racial slurs of any kind are not allowed and that future incidents would result in severe punishment, but they would otherwise be left unpunished. If player B had read the rules and elected to ignore it because they were simply being friendly, I would punish them as they were already aware of the consequences. If the player wasn’t new to the server, they would be familiar with the climate and community and should be capable of figuring out that those words aren’t allowed here, so I would punish them accordingly. Certain words are a part of regular friendly conversation for some people, so someone that is unfamiliar with our server’s rules can easily say something they didn’t know they weren’t allowed to say.
