A transfer request has been sent in.
Not particularly surprising considering the area's mortality rate and ability to burn through strong-willed individuals. Multiple requests come across your desk on the weekly, and they're never anything to bat an eye at. Doesn't matter if they're wrong in the head or can't hold a gun, any extra body you can get to feed into the Alaskan meat grinder is a leg up on The Foundation.
Of course, you know this one isn't a real transfer request.
You gaze at the black folder in front of you.
You've read it's contents many times before.
You already know who it is, what's wrong with them, and why it's on your desk again.
Still, it couldn't hurt to give it another read-over before you give them the go-ahead.
You flip open the black folder and look at its all-too-familiar contents.
Today was a day of celebration.
The occasion and events leading up to it were far too fuzzy in your mind at this point for you to care.
You sat in a soft red booth, speaking a little too loudly in an attempt to be heard over the many cheerful voices that filled the tavern.
What exactly you had been talking about long enough to make your mouth feel dry was met with the same fuzzy lack of care.
As you reach for another cup among the several empty glasses that littered the table, the figure across from you chuckled and said something you didn't quite hear, reaching a hand into an inner pocket on their thick black coat.
Out from the pocket came a small black object that was tossed onto your side of the table.
As the small black notebook comes into focus, you reach to open it with a hearty comment.
